OFFICE IN AN OLD CINEMA
Rome
preliminary design
with arch. Gennaro Farina
IDEA
In the Rome town center, few meters far from Via Veneto, there was the Cinema Rivoli that now it has been dismissed. The owner wants to turn that big and strategical space into an office. It is a very big void 6.5m high and barely 14m wide. The peculiarity is that the windows are only on one side.
The proposal suggests to introduce a 2 floors architectural organism that is characterized by a custom light metal skin that compose a synthesis of solids and voids. That element can be up to 250m2 and permits to use the light to create some closed offices in the logic of an open space working place.
The final result is an office that mix its strict functionality with an lively and comfortable sourrounding.
