Surgenia staircase
Project and works supervision
with Ernesto De Ceano
Surgenia is a public enterprise of the autonomous community of Andalusia that is working to promote the design and the production of furniture and crafts in the south of Spain.
The interior design project of Surgenia directional office in Cordoba is characterized by the metallic skin that wraps some elements like the desk at the entrance and the main staircase.
This covering has been conceived as a shriveled up metal sheet that wraps the elements without barely touching them, as if it was suspended upon the floor.
In the images you can see the skin of the staircase that it has been built by 191 triangular pieces of different dimensions.
Unfortunately, the lack of funds caused by the Spanish recession didn’t permit the completion of the work.
